Activists this morning took the campaign to close down Harlan Interfauna to the main operational site of SRCL in the UK. This company collects the bodies of dogs killed at Interfauna and drives them to this very site for incineration.
In the driveway and only access road to the incineration plant, campaigners chained themselves together using arm tubes in a succesful attempt to shut down the site. For several hours, not a single lorry could enter or leave the facility and regional media came straight down to cover the unfolding events.
Despite being unable to work, SRCL staff entered into discussion with activists and expressed much support for the action and disgust at what their employer was involved in.
After three hours, police officers used cutting equipment to unchain activists and forcibly removed them from the entrance to the site.
This is the kind of determination we need to see in order to bring about the closure of Harlan Interfauna! Click here [external link] to view news reports.
