Earlier this year NAVA and the BUAV headed a successful campaign against the proposals by B&K Universal (Part of Marshall BioResources) to construct a facility in East Yorkshire to breed two-thousand dogs for experimentation.
As a result of peaceful protest, lobbying and a damning exposé of Marshall BioResources, the East Riding of Yorkshire Council refused permission for the facility's construction. Thousands of objections were raised and the campaign hit local headlines on an almost daily basis.
Now there has been a new turn in events, with B&K Universal appealing against the decision to the Planning Inspectorate.
If given permission, this facility will be the first of its kind constructed in over half a century.
A recent NAVA investigation into Britain's only vivisection dog breeders, Harlan Laboratories, revealed dogs being allowed out of pens for twenty minutes per week, filthy kennel units and a complete lack of stimulation for these intelligent animals.
Please take the time to help stop this facility's construction by contacting the Planning Inspectorate in objection. Don't forget to quote the Planning Inspectorate's reference number: APP/E2001/A/11/2156819/NWF
