BENTLEY WATERFOWL CONFIRM END TO ANIMAL SUPPLY - 10/01/12

On Monday 2nd January, NAVA released samples of documents and research papers regarding Bentley Waterfowl in Sussex supplying goslings for use in research at the University of Birmingham.

Following supporters contacting Bentley, we have entered into discussions with the owners regarding the issue.

Although birds have previously been supplied for use in procedures regulated through the Animal (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986, we are now in a position to confirm that they will not be as of date.

Bentley Waterfowl's owner has clarified the matter to NAVA and stated that goslings, birds or eggs (for hatching in laboratories) will not be supplied for use in research in the future.

We thank all supporters who took part in our action alert and call for all contact with Bentley Waterfowl regarding this matter to cease with immediate effect.
